CvCISO-1 Bootcamp for AEAs

Overview

The Certified virtual Chief Information Security Officer Course (CvCISO-1) is the intense foundational course for the SecurityStudio CvCISO® Program and is the required course for all CvCISO®  certifications. This bootcamp course condenses the timeframe of the course into 5 weeks and caters the content to meet the needs of Area Education Agencies (AEAs).

This course covers all the basics of what a vCISO is and what a vCISO does, and will end with an exam that will certify them as a vCISO, at the level in which their experience allows.

This class is a prerequisite for taking the CvCISO-1 Certification Exam. Completing the CvCISO-1 course and passing the exam earns the student the designation of “CvCISO® ”.

Schedule

This course combines asynchronous and synchronous learning. Much of the content will be learned via videos of Evan Francen's lectures. Each will follow a schedule that includes several lessons. It will be the participants' responsibility to learn the content outside of the weekly meet-up on Zoom. 

Monday Evening Lectures: 6-8pm CST

Monday's are reserved for firehouse style lecture method, covering the chapters for the week.

Thursday Evening Collaborative Meetings: 6-8pm CST

Thursday meetings are reserved for collaboration to discuss the week's learning, ask questions, and learn from others that are already doing this work in your state.

Course Length

The CvCISO-1 AEA Bootcamp runs for 5 weeks and includes 10 instructor-led 2-hour sessions. In addition to the classroom hours, students are expected to complete video learning, practical assignments and study (to be successful).

Course Cost

The cost of the course is $1,500/student. The cost of the course includes the CvCISO-1 examination fee (and retakes, if necessary).
